چکیده

The design and physical implementation of a self-controlling dynamically reconfigurable system is described in detail. The reconfiguration control logic and target application execute in parallel within the same FPGA. In addition, the data required for each reconfiguration is generated on demand. A pattern-matching algorithm is used to investigate the viability of systems that exhibit self-control of reconfiguration management. The system was engineered on a custom development platform, based around a Xilinx XC6216 FPGA. The methodology and development tools used in the design are also evaluated. Initial measures of performance and recommendations for future device design are presented.

Influence Control for Dynamic Reconfiguration of Data Flow Systems

Influence control is a very challenging issue in dynamic reconfiguration and still not well addressed in the literature. This paper argues that dynamic reconfiguration influences system execution in four ways: functional update, functional side-effect, logical influence on performance and physical influence on performance. Methods including version control, transaction tracing, switching reconf...

Feasibility study of presenting a dynamic stochastic model based on mixed integer second-order conic programming to solve optimal distribution network reconfiguration in the presence of resources and demand-side management

Nowadays, with the use of devices such as fossil distributed generation and renewable energy resources and energy storage systems that are operated at the level of distribution networks, the problem of optimal reconfiguration has faced major challenges, so any change in the power of this resources can have different results in reconfiguration. Similarly, load changes during the day can lead to ...

Quantitative Analysis of Design Decisions for Dynamic Reconfiguration

Dynamic reconfiguration is becoming an important requirement of current software systems as they have a trend towards running continuously and updating frequently. The main purpose is to reduce the update cost caused by system shutdown or restart. Controlling the influence of dynamic reconfiguration on system performance is an essential yet difficult issue. Many factors have to be considered an...

Built-In Self-Test of Configurable Cores in SoCs Using Embedded Processor Dynamic Reconfiguration

Built-In Self-Test (BIST) provides an effective way to test configurable cores in System-on-Chip (SoC) implementations. We present a case study of the use of dynamic reconfiguration from an embedded processor core to implement BIST for the programmable logic and routing resources in configurable cores in commercially available SoCs. Experimental results from actual implementations include speed...

Autonomous dynamic reconfiguration in collaborative problem solving

This thesis is a comprehensive study of collaborative problem solving, its advantages and pitfalls, but mainly its improvement by autonomous dynamic reconfiguration. Autonomous dynamic reconfiguration deals with two common problems in collaborative problem solving – high communication effort and poor problem solving results because of restricted overview. The main idea of autonomous dynamic rec...
